Artist of The Year

Unlike most music award shows whose prizes are decided upon by peers and others in the industry, the American Music Awards winners are decided entirely by the American public.  The nominees are chosen by Billboard/Nielsen data, then fans login to ama.com and cast their vote. One Direction was voted Artist of the Year at last night’s show. They also took home awards for Favorite Band and Favorite Album for their “Midnight Memories” LP.

“Midnight Memories” and their newest album “FOUR” are available through your library website on Freegal Music.

Other winners from the AMA's that are available on Freegal Music include:

Favorite Female Country Artist: Carrie Underwood
Favorite Soul/R&B Female Artist: Beyonce
Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist: John Legend
Favorite Electronic Dance Artist: Calvin Harris
Favorite Contemporary Inspiration Artist: Casting Crowns
