New Arrivals

There is new music put on the Freegal site constantly. Here is a small sampling of additions to the site within the last few days:

"Paris" by The Chainsmokers
The dance/pop duo The Chainsmokers has had quite a bit of chart success. Their last single called "Closer" was the #1 song on Billboard charts for eleven weeks. That made it the longest run at the top for any song in 2016. It is also one of the longest running #1 songs of all time. A new single entitled "Paris" is out today. It is duo's first song without a featured vocalist since 2015. Drew Taggart, one of the members of Chainsmokers, performs vocals. It is a departure from some of their other music.  Be sure to check it out.

The Book of Love Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Nine-time Grammy winner Justin Timberlake recorded and produced the soundtrack for the new 'Book of Love' movie that opens on January 13th. The album includes 31 new songs. The movie itself is a compelling drama that stars Mr. Timberlake's wife.

"Only The Lonely" by Colony House
Colony House is an up-and-coming four piece alternative rock band from Tennessee. Two of the band's members are the sons of Steven Curtis Chapman. Mr. Chapman is a critically acclaimed Christian music artist. The music of Colony House has been featured by NPR, The Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, and many others. "Only The Lonely" LP was released on January 13th.

"The Classics" by Hans Zimmer
This album is an outstanding collection of blockbuster movie themes by the Academy Award-winning producer Hans Zimmer. His greatest works are included such as music from The Lion King,  Gladiator, Pirates of The Caribbean, Interstellar, and many more.

"Return Of The Cool" by Nick Grant
Atlanta-based rhymer Nick Grant released his debut album on January 13th. The new artist lists Jay-Z, Nas and Snoop Dogg as just some of the musicians that have inspired him over the years. The new release has been rated five stars out of five on AllNewHipHop.com

"No Plan" by David Bowie
In honor of what would have been David Bowie's 70th birthday, an EP called "No Plan" just came out. It includes three previously unreleased songs by Mr. Bowie. They are perhaps the last known studio recordings by the icon.

"The News" by Train
The popular rock band Train is coming out with a new album later in January called "A Girl, A Bottle, A Boat".  The band just released a single from it today called "The News". The new album will be the first LP from the Grammy winning band since 2014.  Listen to "The News" now and watch for the new full length release.

"The Kids Don't Wanna Come Home" by Declan McKenna
Eighteen-year-old singer/songwriter Declan McKenna recently performed his music at the NPR studios for their 'Tiny Desk Concert Series'. NPR declares that he "writes about a much bigger world than you or I might expect from a singer that just turned eighteen...passionate...I'm eager to fast forward to where this young poet takes us." DIYMag calls this new song "a bit of a scorcher". NME.com says "it's his most emotionally charged song yet." Declan's sound has been compared to Tokyo Police Club, Passion Pit, and Death Cab for Cutie.
